Hoardings phase 2 for Crawley Borough Council

Just AJD Completes Phase Two of a Major Signage Project for Crawley Borough Council

Just AJD, a large-format printing firm in Dorset, has now completed Phase Two of a project to survey, build and install printed hoardings for Crawley Borough Council in Sussex.

The Wimborne-based printer and installation firm was commissioned to construct and install hoardings around the site of Crawley Borough Council’s old town hall while the old 1960’s building is being demolished to make way for a new residential housing and commercial space development.

The project is a key part of the council’s vision to drive economic growth and rejuvenate the area.

Prior to installation, Just AJD worked closely with council officers to conduct risk assessments and produce written safety and logistical protocols.

The finished installation consists of durable 8’ x 4’ wooden panels, protected by a specialist anti-graffiti laminate and backed by a two-year guarantee. The vibrant artwork, supplied by Crawley Borough Council, features representations of the town’s buildings, parks and public art.

Councillor Michael Jones, Leader of Crawley Borough Council, said: “I was delighted to see the remaining hoardings replaced by Just AJD. The design reflects symbolic parks, buildings and public art of Crawley. Their vibrant colour brings life back to this area around the demolition site.”

Andrew Ballington-James, founder and Managing Director of Just AJD, said: “This has been a rewarding print and installation project working very closely with Crawley Borough Council over a number of years as part of its plan to transform a vital part of the town centre.

“Ahead of the latest phase of the project, we liaised with council officers to conduct risk assessments, and then during the latest installation of hoardings we collaborated with electrical contractors to resolve some unexpected issues with power cables that were discovered running under the demolition site. Apart from a short delay of around a week due to this issue, the installation went really smoothly and we are proud to see our work play a role in Crawley’s rejuvenation.”
